On the last blog I shared that Marissa sold her first painting. Marissa's love of painting and dancing are just part of how she was made...she absolutely adores both activities. We never thought to sell the paintings she creates. But, she paints such beautiful canvas creations that people began asking us to buy them. So, Paintings by Marissa was created...and the money will go straight into her bank account, whether she sells one, two, or two hundred. I will post just some of the works of art our little painter has created recently (there are many more), and by the way, she gives the title to each painting (some of them crack me up). For someone her age, we think she has talent. What she does with it is up to her! We'll encourage her in whatever ways we can. Selling her first painting shows her that others (besides her parents) find worth in her creations.

Gospel Girl

Marissa attends (and loves) the Awana Club at church every Sunday night. Basically, for those who do not know, Awana is a club for boys and girls to learn and share the word of God, and to learn about Jesus.
Last night was Super Hero night. The kids were supposed to dress up in costume, and I really wanted
Marissa to honor God, but still have some good old-fashioned fun...so, we thought about what she should wear...and came up with Gospel Girl!
Marissa had a blast and the costume was so fast and easy to make! I'll bet she will still fit into it for next year, too!
